Two weeks have passed since we launched our third birthday charity contest.  With four charities, Share Our Strength, Cancer Research Institute, ShelterBox, and Reading Tree, chosen for this contest, our readers had the opportunity to decide which would receive a donation in celebration of WMG’s birthday.  I am proud to announce that the article, Preparing Your Home for a Natural Disaster, on ‘Bout Home received the most Likes, making ShelterBox the winner.

We are pleased to know that through this donation, ShelterBox will be able to help more families in times of crisis by providing shelter and supplies.  They explain, “We deliver the essentials a family needs to survive in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.  Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.”

In other parts of Wasabi Media Group, there were more winners this week.  One of our music columnists won tickets to a Soundgarden concert, which he kindly wrote about for our reading pleasure.  To learn more about the winner of this past Sunday’s NASCAR race, check out this article.  Finally, free gum, free baseball tickets, and a few other items seem like a win to me, wouldn’t you agree?

Whether you voted on the contest or will be reading about how to get a free “win” of your own, we thank you for being part of the WMG community.
