Becoming More Social

Screen Shot 2015-11-02 at 10.49.12 AMAs a brand, PeKu has been part of the social media world for quite some time. We launched in July 2008, and our first presence in the social media world was our Think Tasty Twitter account. Seven years later that account is still up and running. Over this seven year time span, we’ve been active on a number of social media fronts:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest
  • Twitter (for other publications)
  • Tumblr
  • YouTube

Some of these social media accounts focus on individual publications, such as our Wedding Inspiration Pinterest board, and others highlight PeKu as a whole. For most of the social media platforms, we cover PeKu in both ways. However, on Facebook, we have focused primarily as PeKu as a whole.

As the person who studies our metrics, I could bore you with the gory details of our social media numbers, but there’s no need for that. Rather, I will share what we propose to do based on those numbers- we will be building Facebook pages for each of our publications. No, I don’t consider this to be an exciting piece of news, most major publications have their own Facebook pages, but this is where PeKu is different. Although we are seven years old, we are still a startup working with a bare bones crew. Overseeing multiple Facebook pages had been lower on the priority list.

Now with fewer projects simmering and a bit more assistance in the area of social media, it is time for us to expand our social media presence. If our metrics stay consistent, we should be gathering new readers with the addition of these pages.

By the end of this week, all six publication pages should be live on Facebook. Be sure to find them, and like your favorites!
