Pack Your Bags

This coming weekend heralds the unofficial start of summer.  Not only does Memorial Day weekend mean that you can wear white again (according to etiquette), it also marks the beginning of summer fun.  Let the season of weekend cookouts, day trips to the beach, and holiday fireworks begin.

While summer evokes many different thoughts, for most people summer is a time of travel.  With kids out of school and nicer weather, it is a great time to pack the suitcases and hit the road.  Maybe it simply is a trip an hour or so away for a weekend at the beach or a stay at a campground.  For others it could be a week-long trip to a new and exotic locale.  For my family, it is a first in my lifetime, family reunion.  All of us will be there:  aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, nieces, and nephews.  It should be a fabulous time, re-meeting family, sharing stories, and trying new adventures.

There is a special element to vacations.  I don’t think it necessarily is the new location; it more is the people with whom you travel.  When I went to Paris with my husband, I was in awe of the Eiffel Tower.  But even more than that, it was that I was able to share it with him, much like when I travel with my children.  Although the complaint of “He’s/she’s in my space” is tiresome, it is wonderful to be able to explore new places with them.

As the season of vacations begins, turn to our travel publication, Good Life Review, for inspiration and suggestions.  Highlighting locations around the globe, we have great ideas for your next trip.  From Colorado to Japan to Monaco and everywhere in between, please travel the world with us.
