January 2014 Highlights

by Michele Pesula Kuegler on January 6th, 2014

January HighlightsIn New Hampshire, base of PeKu, we are off to a cold and snowy start. With two days of snow last week, it certainly looks like a winter wonderland.  Add the single digit (and subzero) temperatures, and it definitely feels like January here.  Although I don’t enjoy the freezing temps, I do like having the excuse of snow to work from the home office and have lunch in front of the fireplace.

Of course, snow or not, holiday or not, the world keeps moving forward at PeKu. As we start the year, we are excitedly publishing 101 articles each week.  Included in these articles are three new formats:

  • an original video every other week on ‘Bout Green that shares a quick tip to help with your eco-friendly efforts
  • an original video every month on Outdoors Eagle that gives a sneak peek of that month’s destination
  • a monthly slideshow on Good Life Review that provides you with a few facts about the destination of the month

Speaking of Good Life Review, we have decided to make an editorial change for Destination Detour. Rather than focusing on a country or continent, we will be focusing on the 50 US states for 2014. Each week we will focus on a different state and its travel highlights, working in alphabetical order.  Thus, last week we looked at Alabama, and this week we will study Alaska.  Please return weekly to learn about the best things to do and see in each state.

These changes are just a few of the many that we will see in 2014.  It should be another exciting year at PeKu.

Happy 2014 to all!

Michele
