Marking the Seasons

During the Christmas season of 2012, we bought a freshly picked tree, as we usually do.  Unfortunately, after a week in our living room, that year's tree began losing needles at a rapid pace.  With over two weeks left until Christmas, there was no possibility that this tree would last.  Unfortunately, I was under the weather that weekend, so my husband offered to go and find a new tree for us.

An hour or two later, my husband returned with a 2-foot tall Norwegian Pine.  This planted tree could serve as a fill-in for a Christmas tree and

3 for PKP – January 2014

A new year means that it's time for a new set of goals.  When I work on annual goals, there always are two categories in which I look for new heights- growth and service.  For service, this year we intend to publish four articles per week on each of our publications.  We also want to double the number of original videos we publish.  For service, we want to provide our readers with different means of obtaining our original content.  Stay tuned for updates.  My hope is that with these changes, we will see continued growth.  We are

January 2014 Highlights

In New Hampshire, base of PeKu, we are off to a cold and snowy start. With two days of snow last week, it certainly looks like a winter wonderland.  Add the single digit (and subzero) temperatures, and it definitely feels like January here.  Although I don't enjoy the freezing temps, I do like having the excuse of snow to work from the home office and have lunch in front of the fireplace.

Of course, snow or not, holiday or not, the world keeps moving forward at PeKu. As we start the year, we are excitedly publishing 101 articles

Christmas Week

With Christmas on Wednesday, this week isn't a normal business week.  The number of meetings and calls are less.  While many people are still working today, the atmosphere at work is different.  Even as an adult with teenaged children, it's harder to focus on the task at hand.  I want to think about the food I will be making, the presents I will be giving, the friends and family I will see.  I'm sure I'm not alone in this frame of mind.

However, the world of work doesn't disappear because of a holiday. There are projects to review,

It Truly Is a Wonderful Life

During the Christmas season we have a handful of traditions.  Our younger daughter and my husband arrange his collection of nutcrackers.  We bake sugar cookies that the kids frost.  Stockings are hung on the stairway railing, including one for our only pet, a gecko.  (Yes, he even receives a present on Christmas morning!)  Lists are written for Santa at Thanksgiving.

During the month of December, my husband and I have a couple traditions that are for just the two of us.  We always find a day to shop together for the kids and go to lunch.  We also
