PeKu goes YouTube: Expanding the Company from Written Content to a Digital Platform

Friday, February 28th, 2014

Manchester, NH– PeKu Publications is eager to announce their newest marketing expansion and addition of original digital videos. The CEO and Editor-in-Chief, Michele Kuegler, seeks to develop and spread a contagious interest in PeKu’s articles to maintain readers and solidify a following. She states, “Having written, edited, and published thousands of articles over the past five years, it was time to try a new medium. Short, creative, and original videos seemed to be the perfect fit for PeKu.” Their recent goals have focused primarily on exhausting the power of social media marketing, and one of the final steps is incorporating a video presence on YouTube.

YouTube is a video-sharing platform where users can upload and view a variety of content with no cost or membership. The site reaches up to millions of viewers and creates an excellent outlet for spreading information. PeKu Publications maintains the integrity of consistently publishing original content, but has expanded this from written articles to digital videos.

Both creative director, Artem Belykh, and Monkey in Pajamas Media [www.monkeyinpajamasmedia.com] create the original videos. The Monkey in Pajamas work began in November of 2013 on their ‘Bout Green site. This channel discusses topics relevant to the environment and Go Green initiatives, published bi-weekly. Their progress continued to the Outdoors Eagle site in December of 2013. Outdoors Eagle covers a broad range of ideas relating to outdoor activities and traveling tips. The videos, created monthly by Mr. Belykh, provide an interactive and engaging method to sharing ideas and content. PeKu anticipates that the YouTube channels will maintain growth and serve as a catalyst to expand the company’s audience.

PeKu Publications Awards Campbell High School Senior with $500 Scholarship

Thursday, June 27th, 2013

Manchester, NH– Campbell High School senior Katie Kierstead was chosen as the recipient of the $500 PeKu Publications (PKP) Scholarship for graduating seniors. Kierstead was among the applicants for this scholarship that recognizes a senior with strong writing capabilities. Kierstead will be attending the College of St. Rose in New York this fall.

The PKP Scholarship was created by the internet-based publishing company last year as a way to give back to the local community. Campbell High School graduating seniors within the top twenty percent of their class were eligible to apply. Applicants were required to submit a 500-word essay to answer the following question as concisely and completely as possible: It is the year 2027; what major accomplishments have you achieved since college graduation?

All essays were submitted to the Campbell High School guidance office by March 29th. Michele Pesula Kuegler, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of PKP, and PKP associate editors received the essays with the applicants’ names removed, and judged them based on intent, support, organization, and writing skills. The essay that received the highest score was chosen as the recipient of the scholarship. According to Pesula Kuegler, Kierstead was the unanimous choice of the panel.

Pesula Kuegler is a former teacher at Griffin Memorial, the elementary school in Litchfield, NH. She taught here until June of 2008, at which point she began to envision what soon would become PeKu Publications.

When discussing this scholarship opportunity Pesula Kuegler says, “Although PKP is a global company, I like that I am able to give back to the community that I consider to be home. I look forward to providing scholarships to Campbell seniors for many years to come.”
